TEACHERS

Born in Wroclaw, Poland, he trained at the Lodz State Ballet School and then studied choreography and directing at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St Petersburg. His graduation work was also presented in Stuttgart at the invitation of the Noverre Society with dancers from the Stuttgart Ballet. After various engagements as a dancer, he decided to found his own dance company - novaTanz. He has lived in Cologne since 2007. From 2009 to 2013, he studied dance education at the Folkwang University of the Arts. From 2013 to 2016, he completed his master's degree in dance education at the Centre for Contemporary Dance at the Cologne University of Music and Dance. He then dedicated himself to the realisation and establishment of a cultural centre in Cologne-Deutz. Since its foundation in 2013, TanzFaktur has become one of the most important independent production and performance venues for contemporary dance with premieres and guest performances in Cologne. Dance education and two festivals of contemporary dance: the international SommerAkademie (SoAk) and the (RH)EINFACH festival round off the TanzFaktur's diverse programme. Photo: Benjamin Roth
