Festival der darstellenden Künste

The Kölner Theaternacht becomes the Festival der darstellenden Künste! From the 2nd to 4th of October 2024, Cologne will become a hotspot for dance, theatre, performance & contemporary circus for three days. With just one ticket, you can experience more than 200 performances, DJ sets, concerts & after-show parties in over 60 locations! An overview of the programme can be found here. 

There are no individual tickets for the performance, only festival passes, which can be purchased on the festival website. 

The preview will be shown three times in the evening and will last about 20 minutes each time. 

Women's resistance in the past still leaves its mark on our lives today, but hardly any in the writing of history - the historiography. The Israeli-Georgian choreographer and voice artist Annabelle Dvir and the German-Colombian choreographer Bibiana Jiménez enter into an intercultural dialogue with their ensembles and collect the traces of invisibility (IN-VISIBILITY), the scattered voices of female rebellion and the transience of hope and highlight them in a piece, a multidisciplinary collision in which dance, performance, live sound, video and imagination come together to reflect on life, the artistic and the communal. 

Emerging from traumatic childhood memories and reflecting on motherhood and its role in a young girl's self-discovery, IN-VISIBLE: A CLICHÉ OF HISTORIOGRAPHY endeavours to shape parts of the past by ‘embodying today’ and potentially changing realities through the practice of a female life and art community. 

Bibiana Jimenez, German-Colombian choreographer, director, artistic director of XXTANZTHEATER. With her ensemble, she creates socio-political dance theatre pieces and site-specific performances that are dedicated to the topic of women and critically stage current, controversial and socially relevant topics. She works interdisciplinarily and experimentally with professional female artists. Her choreographies have been performed in Austria, Holland, Italy, Spain and Colombia. 

Annabelle Dvir, Israeli-Georgian choreographer, vocal artist, live music composer, director of the WOMEN OF SOUNDS Ensemble. Her multidisciplinary artistic work, which stems from her innovative physical and vocal practice of slamming and explores the act of storytelling and the tensions between the desired and the endangered, has been presented internationally, including in Singapore, Italy, Georgia, Denmark, Spain, Germany and France.
